Spider Vein Removal

Why we love Spider Vein Removal

Spider veins can be unsightly, but luckily there are ways to keep them at bay! Introducing Sharplight technology, here to help rid your body of spider veins.

Who is suitable for Spider Vein Removal

Skin type 1-4. Consultation needed prior to full treatments.

How does Spider Vein Removal works

SharpLight’s treatment of vascular lesions uses a dual-technology platform. For smaller and more superficial blood vessels, Dynamic Pulse Control (DPC) technology is used, while for deeper lesions, the long-pulsed Nd:Yag 1064 laser is preferred.

Your aesthetic practitioner might also tailor a treatment that uses both technologies. Used separately or in combination, they effectively remove unwanted lesions and leave your skin looking clearer and smoother than ever before.

While each technology is different, their common denominator is that they treat using light energy. The light targets the hemoglobin chromophores (red proteins responsible for transporting oxygen in the blood) in the lesion.

The light energy turns into heat, and when the hemoglobin is warmed up it clogs the vessel. As a result, the vessel shrinks and is cleared away by the body’s natural metabolic systems.

  • A “cold pack” may be placed over the treated area to reduce swelling and/or discomfort for the first 2-3 days. Discomfort is usually minimal, but pain medication can also be taken for pain and swelling if required
  • For 1 week post treatment, avoid: hot baths, showers, hot tubs, and saunas. When showering and washing, gently pat dry and do not rub.

Treatment with each technology feels different, but neither is painful. The DPC handpiece emits light pulses, and some patients experience a slight and momentary stinging sensation. The laser pulses are more pronounced and a cooling pad is used to numb the skin.

The typical regimen is up to 6 treatments on each lesion, depending on the area size being treated. They should be spaced 4 weeks apart for optimal results, this is due to the natural healing that will occur between treatments.

Treatment time depends on the area treated. The average treatment takes approximately half an hour.

There is no downtime and following treatment you can immediately return to most of your daily activities.
